Read more about Folklore from our Head Chef…

“Folklore is the living and breathing culture of storytelling. Before we had the written word, stories where passed around communities orally, spreading and evolving through word of mouth.

Folklore connects communities, gives voice and empowers people. In the same way that food does. In fact, both Folklore and food connect us to nature, to the world around us, to others, to our place and time. Looking backwards as well as forwards. It teaches us to respect the natural world. But ultimately, it helps us try to understand the complexities of the world and our human condition.

For us, this menu stands as a natural progression in our own journey. It makes sense. We have always been storytellers out to build stronger communities, here at Feasted. But now we humbly enter ourselves into the dynamic world of lore. Even introducing our own, entirely new tale into the realm.

This menu was so much fun to put together. We did lots of research into local history and folklore. Finding links, talking to others to gear their stories and allowing ourselves total creative freedom.

This menu is more than just amazing food, it's community, place, people, time and playfulness.

From a wondering vagabond and his devilish donkey to a wholly compassionate Irish Princess.

From a misunderstood local figure of fear to a young determined blue pigeon.”
